I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2001 with a degree in Child and Adolescent Development and a minor in Sociology. I earned my Master's degree in 2005 from North Carolina A & T State University in Counselor Education. I have been a School Counselor since 2005, both in Stokes County Schools and previously in Guilford County Schools. This will be my 18th year as a School Counselor. I have worked with school aged children since 1998 in after school based child-centered programs. I taught a Pre-Kindergarten class for a private child care center for 1 year in 2007 before coming to Stokes County Schools in 2008. I have a state license from NCDPI for Counselor Education, Grades K-12, am a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC). I enjoy spending time at home with my husband my cat and a our crazy dog, Cooper! He is full of energy and likes to play and be nosey. He gets into everything at my house!! I am an avid animal lover and am especially fond of Pit Bulls. Our dog and cat are our babies and kids! In my spare time I like to read a lot, travel to warm destinations (I love to CRUISE!!), hang out with my mom, go fishing, go shopping for a good deal, and like to ride in/look at old Volkswagon Beetles/Buses/Cars.
